Exotic bird perches need to be a little more elaborate than the perches which a finch might use

Exotic bird perches need to be a little more elaborate than the perches which a finch might use; in the wild parrots, macaws and parakeets roam free and it is not uncommon to see large numbers perched on a single tree branch. Sociable and intelligent, they love mixing with their own kind and if you have exotic birds as pets, you either need to keep two together or interact a lot with a single bird.
They thrive on the interaction with humans if they are kept in a captive environment, and like other bird species need several perches in different locations as an element of their environment and territorial marking. If you're going to keep an exotic bird as a pet, it needs plenty of space and the freedom to perch in as many locations within its local territory and environment.
