Prom dresses are more designer chic than ever before

Prom dresses are more designer chic than ever before and with over a thousand designs available from some of the most well known designer labels, senior prom girls in the UK is able to rival anything the Yanks and/or Canadian high school senior year girls are able to wear. As with most trends they seem to emanate from the good ol’ US of A and promenade concert, one which is held to mark the end of the school year is a long held tradition throughout North America and Canada.
In the UK it is less of a tradition than in other places in the world notably North America, Australia and New Zealand as well as the countries of the Far East where American influence has held sway over the last century or so. A prom concert is a time when all youngsters let their hair down and celebrate the end of the school year and more notably the end of their time in school. If only they knew what the real world is like they would stay at school a bit longer.
Since the mid 1980s proms in the UK have been trending up and as in the US and other countries, it is now common place to see a party of boys and/or girls arrive at the prom in a stretch limousine as an element of their leaving do. The youngsters all try to outdo one another for their once in a lifetime prom, and of course it is usually the ‘bank of mum and dad’ which finances the entire day.
Still, a tradition is a tradition and the end of year books which the kids end up with showing the boys all smart in their tuxedos and the girls all gorgeous in their prom dress, the cost of the occasion is worth every penny.
