Diabetes type 2 is a type of Diabetes Mellitus that is commonly known as Non-Insulin dependent Diabetes. Unlike Diabetes Mellitus type 1 where there is insufficient Insulin or there is totally no Insulin in the body, Diabetes type 2 patients are either resistant to Insulin or produce very little of this hormone.
They say no diabetes type 2 treatment that can completely cure the condition has been discovered yet. However, studies conducted by the Institution of Cell Therapy have proven that Stem Cell Therapy can effectively help patients with this condition.
The goal of stem cell therapy as a Diabetes type 2 treatment is to maintain adequate levels of Insulin in the body and help patients avoid serious complications. Stem cells are believed to stimulate production of Pancreatic cells needed to process Insulin in the case of Type 2 Diabetes patients. If there are enough of these cells present, the body will be able to effectively metabolize Insulin. This, in turn, will lead to decreases sugar levels.
