Over time an air con system much like any other piece of mechanical equipment will need to be serviced, and any worn or damaged parts will need to be replaced. Heat exchangers, pumps, air filters and other elements need to be working at maximum efficiency for obvious reasons, but also the refrigerant gas charge will need to be checked too.
