A completely green supply chain is an achievable goal in the 21st century, certainly from the point of view of procurement professionals and buyers seeking to maintain and improve their company or organisation’s green credentials. The world’s resources are finite, that is a fact and there is a great deal we can do at a the fundamental level to ensure future generations are not left a barren wasteland as the bulk of their inheritance.
However, it isn't only about finite resources, it is also about the dignity of men and women who, for the sake of an accident of birth have been born into a life of poverty and servitude. Those are shackles which can be broken and cast aside, but only with concerted effort on behalf of the entire green procurement movement.
Isn't it about time we gave thought to the inheritance of THEIR future generations as well as our own?
