Guide to Employer Respiratory Testing and OSHAs Respirator Medical Evaluation Questionnaire
According to OSHA regulations, an employer must ensure that his workers have cleared fit testing by wearing a tight fitted face mask which is placed properly on the chin, fitted well on the nose bridge and correct strapping is done. If an employer has breathing trouble with the mask on, he fails to clear the fit testing and declared unfit to work under any circumstances with the mask on. Fit testing is very crucial for ensuring safety of workforce engaged in a risky profession like metal extraction, drug and chemical testing, and other work where they might be exposed to toxic substances. An OSHAs Respirator Medical Evaluation Questionnaire is filled by employees before appearing for the test. This questionnaire a good way to evaluate the actual number of fit employees in an establishment.
