Most of us won’t know what a rod end bearing is. Well it is a mechanical articulating joint. These joints are utilized on the ends of the cylinders, rods, shafts to fit in the sharp alignment between attached parts. Moreover they are also used in the airplanes, automotives and military applications. They are in brass, iron, steel, zinc or chromium. These bearings differ in dimensional specifications like major diameter, overall length, bore diameter, thread length, design units etc. The most significant specifications are load capacity and maximum angular misalignment.
